RXA Rotary Exchanger Aluminium

Rotary heat exchanger air handlers can be installed either in a stacked or side-by-side configuration. Their rotating carrier classifies them as regenerators. This means they can be placed in a counter-flow arrangement in which the rotating storage mass is heated and cooled alternately by heat releasing and heat absorbing air streams. Depending on the air conditions and the surface of the storage mass, moisture can also be transferred in this process.

The supply and extract air streams are kept adjacent so that they pass through the heat exchanger at the same time. From this process the specific heat output capacity depends on the temperature difference between the two air streams. This means that your rotary heat exchanger is suitable for both heat recovery and coolth recovery, so it can serve you all year round.

Heat recovery
efficiency

Investing in a proper air handling solution from ECE UK yields a number of benefits for your site. These include lower energy consumption, reduced need for investment in heat generation and distribution, and less damage to the environment. The efficiency of your rotary exchanger will depend on energy prices, useful life, running times, temperatures, maintenance costs, and interest rates. Written guidelines such as the Eco Design Commission Regulation (EU) No 1253/2014, the heat recovery efficiency should be no less than 73%. With one of our rotary exchanger AHUs, you could see efficiencies as high as 82%.

Ancillary items

Your air handling unit can include additional devices to enhance its performance.

Filtration

Air filtration is an excellent way to keep the air in your site free of contaminants for the health and comfort of your building’s occupants and visitors.

Direct heating

Direct heat exchangers, including electric air heater batteries and gas fired fuel burning heaters are placed directly in the air stream to provide warmth.

Indirect heating and cooling

Indirect heating works by placing coils full of water or steam that alter the temperature of the incoming air. The power for the coils is provided by a central plant.

Humidification

In colder climates heating a space continuously will dry the air out. By using evaporative, vaporiser, spray mist, or wetted medium you can ensure this doesn’t happen.

Dehumidification

The cooling and heating coil can be used to over-cool then reheat the air to remove excess moisture, keeping your site comfortable for people and safe for machinery.

Intelligent energy controls

Our intelligent energy controls give you an unparalleled level of control over your air handling system. You’ll have the option to monitor return air quality, energy available for recovery, and CO2 concentration so you can run your system at top efficiency while still maintaining your fresh air requirements. They are an essential component of your system that give you precise control over your airflow and its quality.

Net zero carbon

Achieving net zero carbon by offsetting emissions is essential to curb the effects of climate change. You can help offset your building’s carbon emissions by having our custom AHUs installed. They provide the conditioned and temperature-controlled air you need efficiently and recuperate otherwise lost energy wherever possible.

Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

Your unit can receive a full Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) after its completion at our factory. This will assess that your AHU is fit for purpose, follows the specified design, is made up of the correct components, and has been assembled correctly. The results of these checks and other documents will be accessible through our client portal:

  • Completed FAT protocol
  • Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) manual
  • Recommended spare parts lists
  • Certificates of compliance
  • As-built certified drawings
  • Air tightness certificate
  • Filter DOP certificate
